BioD is a biological complex product engineered specifically for municipal wastewater treatment plants to accomplish sludge reduction and improve effluent quality. It is a very concentrated product. When incorporated with sludge, select bacteria within the product (BioD) will activate and mass- produce at an enormous rate, thriving on the solids in the sludge. This will result in significantly less volatile and suspended solids.
The select strains of bacteria in BioD supersede bacteria present in municipal sludge and take control of the decomposition process. This causes a change in the very nature of the active compounds through the process of hydrolysis and bioxidation. As a result, the Biological Oxygen Demand (B.O.D) and the Chemical Oxygen Demand (C.O.D.) are lowered and the effluent can be greatly enhanced.
BioD is applied in four-week cycles by simply incorporating it at a rate of one (1) gallon per 100,000 ADF of processing flow, thus resulting in thirteen (13) applications per year. The application is made by disbursing BioD over a wide area of the aerator and/or digester. The process is very quick and efficient for plant operators. The bacteria strains in BioD are nonpathogenic—harmless to human beings, animals, birds and plant life.
How it works:
- Provides a balanced and complete set of amino acids, with micro and
macro nutrients.
- Enhances the productivity and efficiency of the digesting bacteria.
How to us BioD:
- Rate of use: One (1) gallon per 100,000 gallons per day (ADF).
- Application: Apply over aerator and/or digester.
- Maintenance: Once every 28 days.
- Results: 45 to 60 days.
Additional Uses:
- Treatment and sludge reduction of wastewater lagoons.
- Treatment and sludge reduction of larger community septic systems.
- Treatment and sludge reduction of municipal and public service district sewage treatment plants.
